Competitor: BEX BOURNE
Bex recently graduated from University College Falmouth, England; she has since remained in Cornwall. Inspired by folk art/music, the great outdoors, and the sea, she is often found travelling about the county in her little home on wheels; when she stops she’ll open up the doors and sketch the view, stick her head into a pub to draw the (hopefully musical) locals, or stomp off along the coast path to soak up the delicious colours of her surroundings.Tools of the trade are generally a brush pen filled with Indian ink, a bag of gouache, and her trusty set of watercolours.

29 year old John Scarratt hails from the fine city of Norwich, UK. After studying Illustration at Loughborough University he went on to complete an MA in Communication Design at Norwich University College of the Arts. His work is underpinned by strong conceptual reasoning. Recent projects have included mapping films based on their hard of hearing subtitles and illustrations based on the works of Shakespeare. Competitor: Ben Dougal
Ben Dougal is a letterpress printer, bookbinder and graphic design student at the University of Utah. Growing up in Utah, with yearly visits to Idaho and a stint in Alabama heavily influenced his perception of what is beautiful when it comes the written word. He loves the feel of letterpress, the imperfections in old movable type, the impression on thick paper, and the effort that goes into printing. Ben is inspired by nature, letterforms, books, and his lovely wife. He is lucky enough to be associated with the University of Utah’s Book Arts Program, where he does all his printing, using a plethora of movable typefaces.

Competitor: Michelle Terry
Michelle Terry is a graphic designer currently residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She studied fine art and design at Grand Valley State University, and specializes in letterpress, pinstriping, pouring concrete, and mig welding. Her favorite typeface is Clarendon. She also collaborates on type installations, and letter-pressed promotional projects at NotDesign Studio. When she is not designing, you can find her checking out hot rods and some good burlesque.
